September 2026 has been a major month for AI agent funding, with large investments flowing into coding agents, agent infrastructure, security, governance and specialized AI-agent platforms.
The month has been dominated by two particularly large transactions. Cognition, the company behind Devin, announced more than $2 billion in Series E funding at a reported $48 billion valuation. Temporal Technologies followed with a $550 million Series E at a reported $12.55 billion valuation.
Beyond these large rounds, September has also seen significant investment in the infrastructure and security layers supporting the growth of AI agents.
