What Astrix Does

Astrix Security provides a platform for discovering, governing and protecting non-human identities and AI agents across enterprise environments. Its technology covers identities such as API keys, OAuth applications, service accounts, IAM roles and other machine credentials.

Key Capabilities

  • Discover AI agents, MCP servers and non-human identities
  • Identify excessive privileges and risky configurations
  • Govern AI agent access and lifecycle
  • Detect suspicious activity and compromised credentials
  • Deploy least-privilege access and secure-by-design agents

Why It Matters

As AI agents increasingly interact with enterprise systems, the credentials and machine identities behind those agents become an important security layer. Astrix built its platform around this non-human identity problem and expanded its focus toward securing agentic systems.

Astrix at Scale

100:1

Agents & NHIs vs. Humans

Astrix says AI agents and non-human identities can outnumber employees by approximately 100 to 1 in modern enterprise environments.

99%

Ungoverned Identities

Astrix reports that 99% of identities in modern environments can remain outside traditional identity governance and audit processes.

$85M

Funding Raised

Astrix raised $85 million across three funding rounds before its acquisition by Cisco.

AI Agent Security

Discover

Astrix provides an inventory of AI agents, MCP servers and non-human identities, including custom, third-party and shadow agents. Its platform connects identity, permission and usage context to help security teams understand their agentic attack surface.

Secure

The platform identifies excessive privileges, abnormal activity, vulnerable configurations and policy violations. Security teams can apply access controls and automate remediation of risky agent and NHI activity.

Deploy

Astrix’s Agent Control Plane is designed to support secure-by-design AI agents with least-privilege access, short-lived credentials and audit trails for agent activity.

Enterprise Adoption

Enterprise Customers

Astrix has reported customers including Workday, NetApp, Xerox, Priceline, Agoda and Figma, alongside other large enterprises and Fortune 500 companies.

From NHI to AI Agents

Astrix initially focused on the security of non-human identities such as API keys, OAuth tokens and service accounts. As enterprise adoption of AI agents grew, those same identities became central to securing autonomous software.

Cisco Integration

Following the acquisition, Cisco plans to integrate Astrix capabilities across its security portfolio, including Cisco Identity Intelligence, Secure Access, Duo and Splunk.
